What is Full Spectrum CBD Oil?

CBD or cannabidiol comes from both the cannabis plant and industrial hemp. In cannabis, there are more than 100 cannabinoids that are present which includes CBD along with THC, the psychoactive compound that creates the feeling of being “high”.

Research indicates that Full Spectrum CBD offers benefits that go beyond what CBD Isolate can provide. This is because of the combination of different elements within the product that amplifies or enhances the effect. This is known as the entourage effect.

What is the Entourage Effect?

Full spectrum CBD, because it includes other cannabis compounds, creates an “entourage” effect. This means that instead of just the CBD alone, the combination which includes CBD, flavonoids, terpenes, and other, lesser amounts of the cannabidiol family creates a stronger pain relief and anti-inflammatory effect compared to CBD isolate.

What is a CBD Tincture?

A tincture is the concentrated extract which is created by soaking the plant in a solvent for several weeks. The solvent is usually made from alcohol or oils that are food-grade which means that they can be consumed safely.

The tincture itself dates back well over 150 years with the first appearance in medical journals being in 1843. Tinctures have been a common way to introduce medicine to the body, although not nearly as well-known as pills which are swallowed or shots that are given through the skin.

How Do CBD Tinctures Work?

Despite being placed in the mouth, the tincture does not work by swallowing. The digestive system is not part of the process. Instead, a tincture is delivered sublingually which means that it is absorbed into the bloodstream through the small capillaries under the tongue along with the cheeks and gums. If you use half, then you are taking in 5 milligrams of CBD. You can adjust up or down depending on your needs.

Bioavailability: In other words, the tincture is absorbed into the bloodstream more readily compared to other methods such as through the digestive process. You can get the same effect with a lower dose of a tincture compared to eating a CBD gummy or other consumable. This means you can get more for less and save money in the process.

Cleanup: There is practically no cleanup involved when taking a tincture. There is no packaging to throw away as with an edible. And no smoke or vapor residue to clean. This makes it convenient to use and store.
